What

Riichi Nomi's new in-person tournament series! Monthly tournaments will award small prizes and spots in an eight person semi-annual championship with larger prizes.

Monthly Eligibility

Any player who can attend is welcome at our monthly tournaments, even if you aren't in the club! The format is 4 hanchan, cumulative score. Tournaments will be capped at 20 players. If fewer than 8 players sign up, the monthly tournament will be cancelled and the semi-annual championship will be pushed back by one month. Cash Prizes

Each monthly tournament has a $10 entry fee. Payment is through Paypal or cash. Half of each month's collection is split amongst the top 3 players, with first place receiving half of the collection, and 2nd and 3rd place splitting the rest. The other half of the collection carries over to the prize fund for the next Semi-Annual championship.

When

The last Sunday of every month, other than November and December. They will begin at 12pm. The semi-annual championship will take place after 5 monthly tournaments.

Championship Eligibility

The winner of each of the 5 monthly tournaments wins a spot in the next Semi-Annual Championship. If the winner has already secured a championship seat, the next highest scorer will be awarded the seat. The top 3 cumulative scorers who did not qualify through winning a tournament will take up the final 3 spots in the next semi-annual championships.

Other Prizes

In addition to cash, each person who wins a spot in a semi-annual championship will also receive a riichi stick enamel pin. The winner of the semi-annual championship will receive a trophy and a custom emote in our discord in addition to the championship cash prize.

Where

Tournaments will take place at Claire's apartment in Brooklyn. If you have a more central location that can host up to 20 people for a future tournament, please join our Discord to talk to our mod team!

30k start, 30/10 uma, no abortive draws, 3 red fives.

Kiriage mangan, nagashi mangan, kazoe and multiple yakumans ON. 

Headbump, agariyame, and tobi/busting OFF.

Streaming
